Today, J Balvin collaborates with Skrillex for the new song and video, “In Da Getto.” Directed by Alfred Marroquín, the video captures the track’s infectious energy as he meets the duo across a slew of different parties. The video and track art feature TikTok comedy star Khaby Lame, one of the platform’s fastest-growing content creators, who initially revealed the art earlier this week, as well as Mufasa who dances with Balvin in the visual in addition to being one of the premier dancers on TikTok.. The video also arrives ahead of Balvin’s appearance on TikTok’s Headstream tomorrow at 4PM PT/7PM ET, where he’ll talk about the song and talk to fans in the live chat.
“In Da Getto,” produced by Skrillex and Tainy, comes in blazing as the perfect summer anthem and soundtrack for hot block party nights. The new track includes elements of the 90’s hit “In De Ghetto” by David Morales and The Bad Yard Club feat Crystal Waters and Delta. Morales’ original was a staple of New York club culture in the 90’s, so it’s only fitting that Balvin, Skrillex and Tainy would reimagine it in their vision to serve as a new summer classic.
The release also keeps the momentum of #TiempoDeBalvin (Balvin’s Time) going, coming on the heels of his remix of “Poblado” by Crissin, Totoy El Frio, Natan Y Shander with Karol G and Nicky Jam, his collaboration with Puerto Rican artist Jay Wheeler for “Otro Fili,” and his song with Argentinian singer María Becerra for “Qué Más Pues?,” which continues its stint in the Top 12 of Spotify’s Global chart after arriving as #1 on Spotify’s Global Song Debuts upon its release. The result of this sees J Balvin continue to champion all kinds of Latin talent, whether they be established powerhouses or emerging stars.
Alongside the release of “In Da Getto,” J Balvin is announcing a pair of multi-disciplinary collaborations, as well as a new edition of his NEÓN performance series. Showcasing Balvin’s love of collectibles, the artist and Hasbro are releasing the first Transformers figure based on a musician, the “J Balvintron,” which will be available for pre-order for $69.99 on Tuesday, July 13th at 9am PST/12pm EST here. The Transformers news comes on the heels of last week’s announcement of Balvin’s collaboration with Kokies on two limited edition toys, a pink-haired and yellow-haired J Balvin figurine, both of which are now available for pre-order and will be shipped at the end of July. Finally, J Balvin is announcing NEÓN Punta Cana – an all-inclusive beach experience with headline performances right on the beach, club nights in Punta Cana, and pool parties at multiple different pools on the Punta Cana property, where all food and drinks are included, to take place this December in the Dominican Republic. NEÓN Punta Cana is an expansion of Balvin’s NEÓN series, which includes three sold out weekends of performances by J Balvin and friends in Las Vegas this September.
The song’s release follows Balvin’s eleven nominations at this year’s Premios Juventud, his win for Latin Pop/Reggaeton Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, his four nominations at this year’s MTV MIAW Awards, landing 2 songs on Spotify’s Top Global Songs Chart (“Qué Más Pues” peaked at #9 and “Poblado Remix” at #37), and “Que Más Pues” becoming the song with the most video creations on TikTok in all of Latin America. It also follows “Poblado Remix” debuting at #11 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, Balvin’s nomination for Top Latin Artist at the Kids’ Choice Awards Mexico, his announcement of a third weekend of his sold-out NEÓN festival in Las Vegas, and comes after he was revealed as one of the headliners for New York City’s Governor’s Ball this September. Listen to and watch “In Da Getto” above and stay tuned for more from J Balvin coming soon.

His latest album, Colores, saw both critical acclaim and commercial success. Sonny Moore aka Skrillex is a 33 year old record producer, DJ, musician, singer and songwriter hailing from Los Angeles who has won 8 Grammy Awards, been named MTV’s Electronic Dance Music Artist of the Year, and holds the record for most Grammys won by an electronic artist. He’s headlined arenas and festivals globally and graced the covers of magazine heavyweights like Rolling Stone and Wired. His collaborations include Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, FKA Twigs, Kid Cudi, Boys Noize, A$AP Rocky, and Diplo among countless others. Jack Ü, his project with Diplo, had their eponymous album reach #1 on the US Dance charts, with their track “Where Are Ü Now” feat. Justin Bieber going 4x platinum. Skrillex linked with Bieber again for the 8x platinum “Sorry”, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. His label, OWSLA, has launched the careers of some of the most powerful names in electronic music, including Marshmello, Zedd, Porter Robinson, and Mija. He later worked with friend/cult filmmaker Harmony Korine by scoring his critically acclaimed Spring Breakers movie and composed an original track for Pixar’s Wreck It Ralph. He simultaneously penned one of the biggest club hits of the year with A$AP Rocky (Wild For The Night) and dropped his first fashion collaboration with G-Star (it sold out globally in a matter of days). Skrillex took some much needed time off from a never ceasing touring schedule to enjoy some time split between Tokyo and Los Angeles for a creative sabbatical, where he is currently finishing up a trove of new music.
The creative giant began his career as a skateboarding teen who joined iconic post-hardcore band From First To Last in 2004 at age 16 where he became lead singer and went on to make two albums with the group before he left to embark on his solo career by age 19. It was in 2009 that he began to distribute his own EP under the name Skrillex for free on Myspace. That next year he made the seminal Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites EP that began the explosion of Skrillex into the scene on a world wide level with Grammys and sold out venues following soon after. The kid from Highland Park who used to sleep on friend’s couches and hop fences to skate has become one of the most influential artists of the second decade of the 2000s and has discovered some of the largest talent in electronic music with the likes of Zedd, Marshmello, Porter Robinson & Mija. His A&R ear is known throughout the industry and he has definitely become the musician’s musician with collaborations in recent years with the likes of critically acclaimed artists like MIA, A$AP Rocky and FKA Twigs to superstars like Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars with many new unknown artists being brought into the mix as well. Skrillex changed music and has been hard at work with a body of music made in Los Angeles and Japan over
